Point of care echocardiography course

A hands-on course with a portable system - Thursday 6th and Friday 7th November 2008.



What is this course?

This course provides a complete introduction to the foundations of echocardiography. The British Journal of Cardiology Educational Forum in association with Homerton University Hospital have designed this course to ensure candidates achieve maximum knowledge of theory and clinical echocardiography within the two days.

The focus of the course is the acquisition of practical skills through a combination of training in small groups with expert echocardiographers, and short lectures delivered by a distinguished cardiological faculty.

Who should attend this course?

The course is suitable for all those wishing to gain an understanding of the basics of echocardiography, including general practitioners, cardiac nurse specialists and hospital doctors.

Feedback indicates that this course is useful for all those who need immediate echo information in dealing with heart failure, hypertension, pericardial effusion, intracardiac mass and apparent valvular diseases in daily practice.

How much does it cost?

The cost for the two days is £395 which includes teaching material, lunches and tea/coffee. Accommodation is not included, but can be arranged.
